Nextiva is a business communication software company that is launching a new all-in-one collaboration experience for a business's internal team and its customers.
Tallwave was brought onboard to support with the design of new features that would be included in the new experience. As a designer, I created concepts, wireframes, prototypes and final designs for several of these new features.

As a member of the team, I was assigned several features to design for: Team Chat, Rooms and File Management. For each of these features I started by gathering the feature requirements and user flows, and used those to inform my initial sketch concepts.
Because most of the features I was designing for are already pretty well-established in the online communication and file management industries (Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, etc.), I focused on finding existing patterns that fit our requirements to maximize learnability and ease of use.
After sketching, I reviewed each of the concepts with other designers for feedback and with project managers to make sure the solutions were technically feasible. Then I moved on to wireframing to flesh out the ideas and to plan out the flows & supporting screens needed for each requirement.
As we moved on to high fidelity designs, we frequently met with other designers, project managers and key stakeholders to review prototypes of how our designs were intended to work and flow together.
As we got feedback from project managers, stakeholders and developers, we continued to tweak the designs and add any missing elements.
After our prototypes were approved, we made any final updates to the designs as the design system began to take shape, and added annotations/documentation for when they would be ready for development handoff.
